The Queen of Comedy

Alice is learning that replacing an expected thing with an unexpected thing leads to big laughs. Yesterday in the tub, she called the tub a "pond" before noting "that's how you make a joke." Replacing bodies of water (the toilet, a puddle) with "pond" is good fun. At the dinner table this weekend she called Mimi a "speedy squirrel" (a reference to the park ranger in Elmo Loves The Earth), and then proceeded to crack herself up.

Today the big joke is "Mummy's hands are clean, and now let's bean." Sort of a 1/2 rhyme, 1/2 joke.

Here we go with the "knock, Knock" jokes

Alice actually pointed to Mimi and said, "that's one peedy squirrel!" We thought she was saying "pretty" but then later realized that she meant "speedy" when we made the connection to her Elmo video. Today she learned how to say "sp" - no more "peedy" which is a little bit sad for us.

All this time I thought she called me a "pretty squirrel." Oh well, I guess being speedy is also a good thing!
