AMNH - Bones & Butterflies

Alice and Sarah spent the morning at the American Museum of Natural History on Tuesday. We had so much fun. Alice liked the dinosaur bones - "Just like in the book!"
We received special tickets from Mimi's friend Rose/Susan (Thanks so much!) and we used them to get into the special butterfly exhibit. Alice is looking at a huge moth in this photo. Can you see it too?
Bunny went everywhere with us. She didn't need a ticket.
We had a fun visit with Audrey, Jethro, Gavi and Ami (as well as Aud's cousin) at the museum, too.
Ami wondered how he ended up in the tropical forest (it was really hot and humid in the exhibit).
This butterfly from India looks exactly like a brown leaf. With legs. And antennae. Balanced upright on an orange slice. Cool!

Alice was not particularly pleased when a butterfly landed on her leg and decided to hang out there for a while. A museum volunteer finally coaxed it away. Alice and Sarah give the butterfly exhibit an "it's so pretty!" rating of two thumbs up.

Egg Hunt

We celebrated Easter with an egg hunt with friends Dorian and Dante and families. Where are those eggs hiding?

A day at the park.

About to board the train.
"Green grass!"
"Wanna get out and run!"
Tummy tickles.
Tummy tickles (detail).
Mommy's hat.
Hat trick.

The family.

"Mommy, Daddy, and Alice. We're a family!" Notice the spelling of "Coco" in the bottom photo - also our blog header.

Pesach (You're talkin' 'bout Hebrew)

Some photos from our seders. The first at home with friends - the boys really enjoyed the matzah that night. Today we are still eating our leftover whole wheat matzah and this afternoon Alice said, "Let's hide the matzah! Alice loves matzah." I explained the whole "bread of affliction" thing but it didn't stop her from munching it all day long. We spent the second seder with members of our community - 60 people attended and it was lots of fun. Alice had a great time sitting on my lap next to her friend Natalija. It was cozy there on my lap. The woman sitting next to Evan told him about the book that she is writing on the history of thrift in America. And I got to tell the true story of the orange on the seder plate. Next year in Jerusalem...

Soooo much!

Blake's visit made a very big impression on AC. A conversation that we had today over lunch:
AC: "Baby toys!"
Me: "Who plays with baby toys?"
AC: "Baby Blake!"
Me: "Do you love baby Blake?"
AC: "Soooo much!"

Blake came to visit!

We had a great time visiting with Blake on Thursday. AC has been talking about "baby Blake" every day since. They had a great time playing with the toy kitchen and soft blocks, and eating matzo ball soup together.
