Fashion Maverick II

AC has a unique sense of style. Here she is wearing an outfit of her own design - yellow and green footie pajamas with orange and pink striped bike shorts on top. Hot pink rubber rain boots complete the ensemble. We did leave the apartment like this, and yes, she did receive complements from her adoring neighbors.

1st Art Class

Here's AC and Dad pausing for a photo as we headed out to our first art class as a family. AC had a great time at "Art for Tots" at the Noguchi Museum. She wore a belt and rainbow leg-warmers to mark the occasion, as well as her shirt with the blue and red horsies. Some people thought she was a boy, but she didn't seem to care. (Her name tag, "white rectangle" in toddler-speak, was on the back of her sweater.) At art class, we learned about parts and wholes, made sculptures out of beads, pipe cleaners and wooden spools, and looked at Isamu Noguchi's stone sculptures. AC counted the parts that made up the wholes and remarked that one sculpture looked like a triangle. We also played peek-a-boo with some of the sculptures. A fun time was had by all.

Trip to Massachusetts

Our trip was delayed due to the ice storm and the damage that it caused - here's the parents' driveway......and the backyard.
AC and Mom travelled in luxury on the Acela train (with stickers).
Sledding.
Sorting.
Sitting (thank you Uncle Gary for building this AC-sized Adirondack chair)!
AC enjoyed lunch with Gram & Pup, Erin & Kate, and Auntie Em.
Dr. D and the women.
Blake and Brooke in a sled (AC didn't last long sitting in there)!
Caught red-handed: Dad enjoys shopping at Macy's!
We love lobshoo!
I second the motion!
Raps with two things he loves:
Sweethearts.

They grow up so fast

AC says things like "What a funny book!" now. Instead of saying "poobee" for purple, she says "purple." Tonight she said "horse" instead of "horsey." Mom and Dad frowned. "Horse?" Before we know it she'll be asking for the car ke--metrocard?

This one's for Jenny

Hello Jenny,

I apologize for not updating the blog as promptly as I have in the past. Here's a little update. More photos soon.

1. AC is practicing her shapes. She uses the word "semi-circle" often, sometimes substituting this term for the more popular "circle". Also in popular usage are square, diamond, rectangle, and triangle (which Auntie Em taught her).

2. Current favorite book: Blue Hat, Green Hat by Sandra Boynton. Sandra Boynton is so great. AC memorized this book in a few days. It's a great pick if you want to get to the heart of toddler humor.

3. "What's this? A heart. What's this? A horsey. What's this? A nose. What's this? Baby Simon's face. What's this? A boat." AC has conversations with herself about her drawings. These are the things she draws. And this is what she has to say about it.
