life=work

All in a day's work, AC style.

TO DO:

1. Place a fuzzy and furry Elmo and Teeny-tiny Baby Bunny Rabbit in a special spot just for them. (Teeny-tiny Baby Bunny Rabbit seems to have hopped overboard on our last trip to the grocery store. We wish her luck in her travels).
2. Load the dishwasher. AC has inherited the dishwasher-loading gene from both her Nana and Pepere. Thank you for helping, AC!
3. Build a red "building-house". This really does look like the "building-house" where we live, wouldn't you agree?
4. Get dressed in an outfit that says "Springtime here I come." Don't forget the pink rubber rain boots!
5. Work at the easel developing a new finger-painting style of marker drawing.
6. Continue work on various personal projects ranging in scope from radio to local agriculture. Hey you in the next cubicle . . . keep it down! (Smells good, though.)
7. Help dad with his book review. 72 pt. pink Helvetica x 2,000 words = how many pages?
8. Play online Scrabble with Aunt Wendy, under the alias "Sarah V." Hmm . . . ZITHER would work here. Your move . . . WAH HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!
Remember for tomorrow: work out harmony for new songs "Rice and Beans," "Hurry Up, Hurry Up, Hurry Up, Ma," and "Alice and Daddy Walking In The Stroller."

Uncle Shawn

AC and Shawn have a special relationship. He shows her how to put stuff on her sit-n-spin and spin it really fast so the stuff flies off. She sits on his lap and feeds him goldfish crackers. Uncle Shawn is so much fun.

Cousin Simon Turns 1!

Sab & Si (no relation to sob and sigh).Si-man and a Nana (say this 10x fast).
Silly Aunt Wendy. Oops!
Heads up.

Hall of Science

I've been anxious to post these pictures from our day at the Hall of Science. AC had a great time, as did Mom and Dad. It was actually one of the best days that either of us grown-ups could remember - I can't really speak for AC, but I think she'd agree with us. Some fun things that aren't pictured here: the Hall of Mirrors, running (and running and running) through the halls and lobby of the museum, eating lunch in the cafeteria (pink ham triangles), and a long walk home on a gorgeous day. After being cooped up in the apartment all winter, it was fun to get out and about and stretch our legs. Dad wanted to write his own captions, but since he's been so busy with work, mine will have to do for now...

Time for grocery shopping.
Pick some carrots from the garden.
Drop an eggplant into the shopping cart.
Here's an orange...
and a tomato...
some broccoli...
and a banana, too!
Time to check out.
Unload the cart.
Put the vegetables on the belt.
Turn the belt and ring up the groceries.
Now it's time to build with big legos.
Red's the best.
A tall, tall tower.
Help please, Daddy.
Dad is having fun.
So tired after a long day of work.

"The Conversation" (part three)

ACT I.

Scene 3.

(Wherein AC has a soliloquy while drawing at her easel.)

AC: A little flower and a big horsey. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ... 20 blue horseys. A rabbit horsey; a froggy horsey. A big boat and a big horsey. Alice drew a little boat and a big boat. A big blue boat has blue shapes.

"The Conversation" (part two)

ACT I.

Scene 2.

SUPER BOWL XLIII is seen on an antique, pre-digital-conversion TV set with a contraption previously known as "bunny ears." DAD is watching alone. MOM is reading a NY TIMES article on dying Lesbian-separatist communes. AC points at the TV, which shows a giant NFL football logo.

AC (aside): That's a funny place for a boat.

DAD: What color is the boat?

AC: A brown boat!

"The Conversation"

ACT I.

SCENE 1.

At the dinner table. AC and MOM are enjoying a lovely meal at home. The mood is quiet, intimate, relaxed.

AC: Just like a poop-poop.
MOM: What's like a poop-poop?
AC: Soup. Poop-poop soup! (Eats a big spoonful of pureed beef stew.)
